From the UK to Turkey: What the Dental Implant Journey Is Really Like
Getting an implant treatment in Turkey as a UK patient involves several steps: an online preliminary consultation and treatment planning; travel; arrival, in-clinic diagnostics, preliminary treatments, and implant placement; a rest period and return to the UK for recovery; then, finally, a return to Turkey to complete the treatment.
Each patient’s journey is unique, but the sequence of procedures and consultations for dental implant placement in our clinic in Antalya is similar across cases.
Before Travelling to Turkey
To plan their treatments, many of our UK patients contact Perla Dental Clinics through the online form on our site. We usually respond within an hour. During this online consultation, our doctors help patients determine which procedures suit their case. We can make a preliminary diagnosis based on general photos and a panoramic X-ray.
Patients can book a clinic appointment after a consultation. To make implant treatment and related procedures more transparent, we provide patients with a preliminary written treatment plan and quote. The plan lists the number of required visits and other information that can help patients prepare for travel.
Arrival and Treatment in Antalya
After the patient arrives in Antalya, they will be driven to their accommodation if the treatment package includes these services. In such cases, transfers also cover travel between the clinic and the hotel.
After the patient arrives at the clinic, they require an in-clinic diagnostic and check-up to finalise the diagnosis and better understand their dental problems. Their patient coordinator will guide them every step of the treatment journey.

Recovery and Return to the UK
The first few days after implant surgery are critical to overall treatment success. The dentist will explain what temporary side effects the patient may experience, such as swelling, and how to manage them.

Returning to Turkey for the Final Treatment Stage
Most of our implant treatments require two visits to Turkey. Implants require up to six months to osseointegrate and form a strong connection with the jawbone. In a two-stage treatment, the patient may first receive a temporary prosthesis. It is replaced with permanent teeth during the final treatment stage.
